April 11, 2011
Today I tried to catch up on all the laundry. I must have done 5 or 6 loads. Folding is my least favorite part of the chore. Caleb insisted on helping me fold. Of course his way of helping is making a chair out of the folded towels. :)
April 10, 2011
This is my typical Sunday morning. I always look forward to getting my two newspapers and cutting out all the coupons. I then pull up my favorite coupon blogs and find out what the best deals will be for the week; matching up sales and coupons to get the most bang for my buck. :)
April 9, 2011
Joshua has a thing for remotes and phones. Basically anything with buttons. There have been many times that the channel will change as I am watching TV and, sure enough, he has hold of the remote. Silly boy!
April 8, 2011
I cherish night time and putting Caleb to bed. He's always very good about going to bed and will tell me when he is ready. He gets to pick out his jammies and then we brush his teeth and I tuck him in bed. Then we read his favorite bedtime book, A Night Night Prayer. I love how he'll blow me kisses as I close the door.
April 7, 2011
I can't take my eyes off of these babies for even a minute before they are into something. I was washing bottles in the kitchen, turn around, and see that Hannah had managed to get into the diaper cupboard and take out all of the diapers. She seemed quite proud of herself!
April 6, 2011
I can tell my OCD tendencies have rubbed off on Caleb. I found this line of cars in the living room this morning. Too funny!
April 5, 2011
It's a good thing Joshua is so low key, because Hannah just loves taking things away from him. Pacifiers and toys are fair game for her. Luckily he doesn't fuss and just finds something else to play with,
April 4, 2011
My first grocery shopping trip with all three kids by myself! So grateful for the shopping carts with two seats. I put Caleb in the basket part and piled the food around him. It went much smoother than I expected. Nice to know I don't always need a helper with me now.
April 3, 2011
We got to watch my friend, Karen's, bunny for a few days while her family went on vacation. Caleb fell in love with Bun Bun and would sit and talk to him for quite a while. He was convinced this was now his bunny. Have a feeling he will not like seeing him go back home.
April 2, 2011
We're definitely taking advantage of our annual membership to the railway museum. Today was a beautiful day to get outside, ride some trains, and look at all the old railway cars. It really is cool to see all this history restored and put back in working order.
April 1, 2011
Caleb has figured out how to climb into Joshua's crib. This morning I found him in there playing with his brother when I went to get the babies up. Love my silly boys!
March 31, 2011
Spring has sprung! I love the new growth on the trees and the smell of orange blossoms in the air. My favorite season!
March 30, 2011
Tonight we saw Wicked!! The show was amazing! I loved the story and the songs were beautiful. Rodney got us some great seats, so we were centered on the stage and had a great view of the whole production. It was a great date night!
March 29, 2011
I am so grateful for all the hand-me-downs and free things we've been given by family and friends. Hannah's favorite is the exersaucer we got from Rodney's parents. They got it for free from one of their neighbors. Hannah just loves spinning around in it and playing with all the toys.
March 28, 2011
Caleb went pee on the potty for the first time today! I'm so proud of him! I didn't have to prompt him, he just said he needed to go, sat down, and went! As a reward he got to choose a lollipop out of the candy jar.
Here's a little video of him after his great accomplishment.
March 27, 2011
Hannah has completely mastered sitting up and is usually quite happy to just sit on the floor and play with toys. She is such a happy little girl and her smile just brightens up my day.
March 26, 2011
Caleb just loves books (and I love that he does!). He's often quite content to just sit on the floor with a book. He's come to memorize a few and will read them out loud for me.
March 25, 2011
I got a bike today! Target was having a really good sale, so we got this and a trailer that I can tow behind for the twins. I've never rode a bike that has different speeds or hand brakes, so it was a bit of a learning experience the first time out. So excited that we can now ride as a whole family!
March 24, 2011
Joshua is "crawling" around now. He hasn't quite mastered the arm, leg, arm, leg yet, but he rocks back and forth and lunges forward till he gets to where he wants to go.

March 23, 2011
Note to self: always go with clear polish! Just one day after my manicure and my nail polish is completely chipped. I should know better by now. Oh well. It was nice for the few hours it looked nice. At least my toes still look pretty!
March 22, 2011
Mommy's day out! Rodney's parents came to watch the kids for the day and I took a day off! First I stopped by Starbucks for coffee and a croissant, then I drove to my stylist to get my hair cut and highlighted and eyebrows shaped. I love how it turned out. I think it makes me look years younger. After that I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. It was a wonderful, relaxing day of pampering. I really needed it!
March 21, 2011
Is this too cute, or what? Rodney has started doing yoga on the Wii in the mornings and Caleb has been joining in. I love watching him imitate all the poses. Precious moments!
March 20, 2011
Hannah likes anything that makes noise. So I shouldn't have been surprised to find her ripping apart a magazine that I had left on the floor within her reach. She was having great fun and was quite proud of herself.
March 19, 2011
We went to a birthday party today for Sarah's daughter, Ashley. Sarah always goes all out for parties, so it was quite the event. Bounce house, candy table, barbecue and everything. Ashley was very excited about the scrapbooking stuff I gave her for her present.
March 18, 2011
Rodney had a team building event for work out at the Block at Orange, so while he was there he went to the Vans store to use his company discount. He bought Caleb and himself some new shoes. Caleb is rapidly growing out of his old ones and now fits quite comfortably into these new size 8's!
March 17, 2011
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I dressed all the kids in green to celebrate the day and made corned beef and cabbage for dinner. I love finding ways to celebrate holidays and introduce them to my kids.
March 16, 2011
I bought a big container of sidewalk chalk at Target and Caleb and I had lots of fun drawing out on the back porch. He had lots of fun drawing and made requests of things for me to draw (notice the Blue's Clues paw print!).

March 15, 2011
Caleb loves bath time. He likes to splash, blow bubbles in the water, and make bubble beards. The hard part is convincing him that it's time to get out!
March 14, 2011
Well, the hummingbirds have left the nest. I'm a bit sad. It was so amaing to watch them and to witness this amazing part of nature.
March 13, 2011
My mom and John got back from their 3 week Australian adventure this morning! It was fun to catch up and hear all about their trip. My mom got Caleb this cute cap made from super soft Merino sheep wool and got gloves for me and Rodney. (On a side note: How amazing are my son's eyes?!?) :)
March 12, 2011
Tonight the family gathered at Joy and John's house for dinner and fellowship. With everyone's work schedules, it's been hard to get everyone together. John made his famous steak for dinner and afterwards the guys and the kids played games on the Wii while the girls talked around the kitchen table. Great family night!
March 11, 2011
Today we went to the March Air Field Museum. My boys had a great time walking around the grounds and checking out all the planes. I was most impressed with the giant refueling planes and the stealth bomber. It was a beautiful day and a great family outing.
March 10, 2011
It truly amazes me the places and positions in which my son is able to sleep. One second he was playing on the couch and the next he was passed out on top of the cushion. Wish I could fall asleep so easily.

March 9, 2011
Cristi came over with Delaney this morning so she and I could catch up and the kids could play. After a little bit of sharing toys issues the kids finally found a few things they could enjoy together, I just loved watching them play with this puzzle on the couch. Hard to believe that Cristi and I became friends when we were just a couple years older than these two are now!
March 8, 2011
Caleb is having a hard time understanding that all his old toys are now for the babies. He keeps taking things away from them and saying, "Mine!". So I was happy today to see him showing Hannah how the little musical tool bench works and helping her push the buttons.
March 7, 2011
Having 3 kids under the age of three, we go through A LOT of diapers. I have the cupboard under the tv fully stocked with diapers and wipes at all times since the family room is where the majority of changes occur.
March 6, 2011
My Aunt Melena is in town for a couple weeks to spend time with her parents. Tonight we met at Aunt Susan and Jeff's house for dinner and family time. It was Melena's first time meeting the twins and she loved getting to hold them both.
March 5, 2011
We bought a seat to put on Rodney's bike so Caleb can go for rides, too, He absolutely loves riding with daddy. Every time they come back home, Caleb keeps saying, "Do it again!". Love that my guys get to have this special father/son time.
March 4, 2011
After a yummy breakfast of biscuits and gravy at Kountry Folks, we took the kids to the Santa Ana Zoo. There were some really cool monkeys and a beautiful bald eagle among the animals we saw. Caleb particularly enjoyed the barnyard animals and had great fun feeding the goats.
March 3, 2011
The eggs have hatched and we now have two baby hummingbirds in the nest! It's been fun to watch their tiny beaks poking over the edge of the nest in hopes of getting fed. Mommy bird is always close by and kept a very watchful eye on me while I was taking this picture.
March 2, 2011
Carol and I took the kids down to the park today. Caleb, as usual, made friends with a couple little kids and had great fun digging in the sandbox and Hannah and Joshua enjoyed their first time on the swings!
March 1, 2011
Caleb loves helping me with housework. I did some deep cleaning of the kitchen today and he did a good job helping wipe down the counters.
February 28, 2011
Joshua cut his fist tooth! It's on the bottom right and the top is just poking through. Poor thing has not had fun teething. Luckily the baby Orajel and the teething rings help a lot.

February 27, 2011
Joshua is always such a happy boy when he wakes up in the morning. I just love going in to get him and getting great big grins. Makes my morning.
February 26, 2011
Rodney had been saving up money since his birthday and today finally had enough money to buy a bike. He was so excited and is looking forward to buying a child's seat to put on the back so he and Caleb can start taking morning rides together.
February 25, 2011
Tilapia was on sale at the grocery store this week, so I bought 4 nice fillets and made some parmesan crusted tilapia for dinner. Rodney got some fresh asparagus and drizzled olive oil and fresh garlic on top. Caleb enjoyed watching it all cook through the oven window. It was a delicious, healthy meal!
February 24, 2011
Hannah sat up all by herself today! It didn't last long before she would start falling over, but she did it quite a few times! So proud of my little girl!
February 23, 2011
It was getting hard to find the coupons I needed in the little plastic file folder I had, so I found an unused photo album I had and have converted it to my new coupon binder. I organized all the coupons by category and in order of the aisles at the grocery store. Today's shopping trip went much faster thanks to this!
February 22, 2011
I hated how we could never seem to find a matching lid for our plastic storage containers, so today I completely cleaned out the cupboard, got rid of any that didn't have matching lids and put the containers and their matching lids together. Much easier to find things now!
February 21, 2011
Sometimes I wonder why we buy toys for our kids when they are just as happy with the box. :) Caleb has refused to let me throw this one away. It's been a train, a car, an airplane, and a rocket. Love to see his imagination blooming.
